well, I have to say that it was kind of hard for me because I was to introduce the grammar part and it was hard. I did understand the structure, but when I was explaining someone asked a question and I doubted on the answer I gave. Time went on, and then the teacher took her time by doing a listening test, so during that time I reflected on the question that student made, and I got a most suitable answer for his question, so after he finished the test, I approached him and clarified his doubt. The tutor teacher saw me and in the feedback she told me that it was nice that I approached that student and the answer I gave him.
Some of you have said that teaching grammar is not easy even for simpler that it may seem, now imagine teaching grammar to advanced students where the grammar points are more complex!! that´s even more difficult.
The feedback sesion was very helful for me because I was given some advices on how I can do to explain some grammar points when students do not get that at the first time.
The rest of the activities I develop were nice as students enjoyed them, and they worked very nice.
Well, We've all been there. you learn a great lesson when that happens to you. It was really nicwe of you to approach the guy and give a better explanation after all.
ResponderEliminaryeah!!! and afer that I felt more satisfied with my job jejej, but at the moment of the question and after given the first answer I was kind of bad, but I could succeed..
ResponderEliminarWhoa :O Alex, what you did is unheard of... An admirable quality and wise action of you to clarifiy the student's doubt. In top of that, you helped him without looking for information online or off a book, you only had to think and the answer was in your mind all along! you really are on another level, keep on doing so good.
ResponderEliminarGood strategy Alex. I think the situation you faced during this class must be an example of what we can do experiencing things like that. Also, the problem you faced when explaining grammatical structures must serve you as a motive to enhance your performance so that you can avoid future complications when teaching that kind of matters.
ResponderEliminarWow what is happening with perfection Alex? let me tell you that it was nice you answered the student question but was not it better to explain it to the whle group? maybe it was others doubt and you made them feel confused. Thats what i think but i don't know. And I really understand your point, explaining grammar is king of difficult because sometimes you manage the topic but when students ask questions, they tend to confuse us and then we don't know what to answer.
ResponderEliminarsure it would be better to explain it to the whole group, but the point is that my class was over, they had a quiz and after it, they were leavin so that I could explain to that specific student.
EliminarI understand my friend. The good thing is that if we learn how to deal with those situations, we will feel more comfortable when giving an answer. We also learn how to say "I don't know, but I will investigate". Great!
